Beach pictures and such

At the beach in Golden Bay, near one of Jo’s old haunts.

Finding beach treasures for our house.

Facing down the oncoming waves.

I sho’ ’nuff showed it who’s boss.

Gotta love her.

We’d taken a kid-free day, borrowed my father-in-law’s aging Mitsubishi, or Bob, and tooled down the coast to Jo’s old hometown of Mandurah. Sadly, the only pics from the day are at Golden Bay, where she hung out most of the time at a friend’s beach house during her High School years. It was very cool though, and we walked along the beachfront in Mandurah, past the bridge where Jo first learned to fish, and sat to watch swimming birds (seriously, they’ll cruise 50 feet underwater and come up with a fish speared on their bill) while we ate meat pies from Jester’s. An awesome day.

Meat pies are something else that is so incredibly different to American culture. Not that we don’t have them at all, even though they’re mostly a British thing, but they are everywhere here and are simply yummy. Stuff like that makes me wonder why they don’t sell them at every 7-11 in Denver, but alas. Heh, we’re probably having some for dinner here in a minute or two, so I’ll depart with that.

More soon.
