So even though I’m working from home now, I seem to still be in short supply of time. Something that I suppose will always be an issue. It doesn’t help that I tend to spend a little too long hanging about at school with the kids, playing Godzirra and doing puzzles. I’m busy getting the house re-organised, after the upheaval of the “spare” room turning into an office/nursery, getting Jo’s car up and running properly (yep, you heard me, she’s got a car now), as well as getting our li’l business enterprise a-rockin’.
There’s heaps to do, but we’re getting it sorted.
We’ve been doing much thinking about all of you and missing you muchly. Here are a bunch of pics, not near enough I’m well aware, but we just got a new (to us) video camera, and as soon as I figure out how to get the video on here I’ll start uploading them for the enjoyment of all.
Jadeybug with her li’l turtle outfit on. When it’s hot, as it’s been, she does a fair amount of sprawly-sleepin on our bed.
Remember when Ah-nold first saw the leader of the underground revolution in Total Recall? And that dude opened up his shirt to reveal his mutated conjoined twin who was the mastermind behind it all?
Yeah? Heh, that was awesome. I don’t care how wrong it is to make that joke nor how many times Wife will flick my ear for doing so, it’s funny.

Here’s the cheesecake I made for Jo’s twenty-ninth (twenty-ten is now only a year away!). It wasn’t the best effort, but it looked pretty, and I wanted to show off. Look Ma! Strawberries!
She LOVES her bathtime, and makes the cutest noises/motions. Usually her favourites are in the big tub with Jo, but I’m not posting those pics. Nuh-uh.
I love the mistrustful little look she’s giving me. “Waitaminnit! I’m naked and these are bubbles dammit!”
She’d been fussing so I sat her up to help me watch NCICSISVU Special Heinous Vegas and we both passed a bit out.
The Pie she doth loveth her little sister. I’m pretty sure that she’s telling her secrets again, they’re doing that already and I’m afraid. Very afraid. Jade loves her big sis and frequently stares and watches her intently.
This and the next one are both a bit blurry, but I just wanted to get them up on here so I could show Mombo how much the kids are enjoying their Xmas pressies. They carry them out to the lounge on Saturday mornings and look all cuddly while watching cartoons.
Boy loves his motorbike blankie too. Thank You Granbo!!!!
It’s odd how this picture really isn’t that long ago, yet she’s already changed so much. And I� um� shaved?
Freshly squeezed boobie milk means that I get a turn at feeding her too.
“Ahhhhhhh! There’s a big freakin mutated giraffalupous after me!”
“And it’s wearing a pink freakin scarf! Argh, I’ll hit that pink scarf wearing monstrosity!”
I kid, I got her that for Valentine’s Day and she loves it. Except that it occasionally needs attacked with fierce skullsplitting warcries.

I’ve Quit the Rat Race.

Well folks, I’ve officially done it. I’ve quit the Rat Race.
Through a bit of jumpiness and a bit of being pushed, I’ve gone over the edge and am no longer full-time at my job.
I’ll be contracting out to them for part-time work, but all of it can be done from home and I’ll no longer be fighting rush hour traffic just for a meager paycheck.
My goal of starting my own company is well being realised and I’ll eventually be applying for graduate school to get my teaching degree. If you’ve got a bachelor’s, it’s only a one year stint to become a teacher (full time of course) and I’m going to do it.
Think of it, a thriving web consulting and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) business on one hand, my afternoons and holidays free while enjoying not only my children but everyone else’s, on the other.
Don’t get me wrong. I am well aware of the pitfalls and potential problems that this career path has to offer. I’m still going to do it though. I made a decision years ago that I wanted to do something more noble with my life than “make websites” and I figured that teaching was it. Now, I’m going to do it.
Eventually, Life will even out and our biggest stresses will be getting out to the shops for new shoes for the kids, or what to make for the “Harmony Lunch*” at Georgia’s preschool (instead of how are we going to make rent).
*It’s “Harmony Week” at the kids’ school, and they’re asking us to create and bring a dish that involves our family’s culture. After much debate and outside input, we decided against Deep-Fried, Lard-Coated, Mars bars, and are going with Apple Pie. Because seriously, what’s more American than Apple Pie?
Now I’ve just gotta get up early and figure out how to make one. Ma? You mind if I ring you around dinnertime tomorrow? Heh.

I’ve given up on my own movie creations in favour of YouTube, cos it rockifies.
This video was just randomly captured and was raw and unrehearsed cuteness. I honestly think it would do the World a disservice if I didn’t share this with every single living being.
