We’re better than the Jeffersons.

Sometimes it seems as if things are sort of crawling by, day after day of getting kids off to school, picking up groceries, beating children with a coathanger… you get kind of in a rut, you know? Not like it’s a terrible thing, it’s just that some days can be so very similar to each other.

Then, you get a break here and there. Some extra work comes in, the baby starts crawling (backwards), the kids learn to play chess, or the Wife swipes the base of your skull with a claymore a la William Wallace. The breaks are nice, but they fade, and our days keep marching on while the seasons change and our bruises fade.

And then something big happens.

BIG. Huge. Monumentally ginormigastic.

There’s this house across the park from us. This is it’s front.

Aside from the hideous homage to a jailbreak picnic of a shade, it’s quite cute, don’t you think?

This is it’s kitchen.

Aside from it’s OHMYDOGly green countertops, I think it’s cute and cosy.

You can see into the kitchen from this little lounge, which I find quite nice.

Aside from the portal to another dimension aspect of that window, I love this room.

This is those two rooms together, with a view to a whole lotta extra in the back of the joint.

There’s a little stove. Cute!

This is a view from the front yard.

That’s the very same park on our way home from school. Appropriately titled, “Home Park”, it features strongly in many of my pictures of childrens and such. I can imagine unleashing them upon the unsuspecting populace completely unsupervised!

MWAHAHHAHAAAAAAAAA… I will sit and rub my hands together maniacally whilst I await their return.

This is the backyard of this little house.

This sweet bastion of all things pure and untouched is blessed with an overbearing mandarin tree. I don’t mean that it insists on convincing you to vote Howard at the next election either, but that it’s branches literally plop with fruit.

Go on, look at it. *plop*

Soooooooooo…Guess what? Go on, guess. I said GUESS.

That’s right, we’s bought that li’l house.

More appropriately, my brother-in-law, the doctor, his wifeandJosister Ronald and his sterling and christlike credit record bought it. We’re just gonna live there.

Can you believe it?!?! Neither could I.

Nobody has EVER done something like this for me before. Granted, it ain’t for nothing as we got a bidness dilly-yo, but, in all seriousness, the generosity directed at me and mine simply astounds and humbles me.

I’ve gotten to the point that I can only discuss the house with them in limited bursts, quickly changing the subject to armour or fighting or beating children with coathangers, as I can’t think in too much detail about what they’ve done without getting all teary-eyed and wanting to drape myself across and squeeze for an inappropriate amount of time.

The Doc is of the type that simply doesn’t understand how amazingly generous and awesome he is. His wife is just as fabulously guilty of this as well, and getting them to accept a compliment is hard enough. Showing my gratitude to the fullest extent?

Well, I reckon I could probably spend the rest of my life doing that, and I may still fall short.

I better get started.
