Playing a little catch-up.

I’ve finally gotten around to not only trimming my hairs, but also downloading and Photoshopping some pics. Now, with my new and improved uploading features on the new site, here they are.

You can see that I’ve still got the copious curlage sneaking out from under the ol’ bonnet. Jadey is in one of her more preferred spots, planted right on my lap while I work. She’ll eat there, she’ll sleep there, and not too long ago she shat there too.

Wife and I decided that it was time to rein in the curls, so a haircut was in order. She reckoned that she could give it a trim such that it would leave the curlage while getting it away from it’s peskier position of my nose.

I rather liked tying it back into a Samurai-style topknot, but Wife said she was missing my face too much regardless.

Though it was a bit annoying, I really liked having it long as I’d never, EVER, in my whole life had it that long.

Since it’s really hard to “trim” such curly hair, the trim turned into some muttered swear words and an apology, for which I giggled and then assured that none was necessary, respectively. I just slapped the ol’ clippers to the ol’ noggin and went back to the ol’ standby. BZZZZZZZ…

Daddy’s Girls missed the curls for like, a day, and then they were all over me again.

Except for their eye colour, we marvel at how these two look alike. Jadey LOVES her big brother like no other, and he absolutely loves her back. It’s still a bit amazing to see a 6-year old kid, who’s supposed to be annoyed by younger siblings and bored by infants, spend so much time entertaining her and making her life generally all-around wonderful. He genuinely loves his little sister and has never expressed frustration or competition with her in any way. MAN, am I lucky.

The kids got their faces painted at the Subiaco Markets the other day. George was still reeling a bit from the knowledge that the way that she’s constantly smoothing her hair away from her face had wiped off a good portion of her butterfly. She got over it, but after the photo, obviously.

The boy is getting to be quite a ham, but at least this one isn’t his standard gormless/irritated look that permeates all other photos of him.

Bath time

Bath time with her big brother is just a string of peals of laughter and splish-splashing. It’s classic.

Bath time

She had such a good time that she was a bit irritated with me to be pulled out. Both kids love bath time, and ask every time if they can have Jadey in there.

She gets a bit claustrophobic in her little wheelie chair or in her bouncer, so we occasionally plant her in the middle of the floor so that she feels so measure of “freedom”. She’s not crawling yet, but sits terrifically, though is prone to tipping over, hence being surrounded by pillows.

cu_jadefaces3.jpg

We just got her some new toys last week and she’s heartily enjoying them. Which of course means that the random piece of string on the floor is just as much fun.

cu_jadefaces2.jpg

The curiosity… what’s mommy doing?

cu_jadefaces1.jpg

She’s thinking of tipping over soon. As long as she doesn’t move them, the pillows rock.

cu_jadefloor.jpg

Distracted while mommy tries for some close-ups.

This one is one of my absolute favourites. I can’t help but giggle every time I look at it. Seriously. I’m giggling now. Look at that hair!

cu_jadetongue.jpg

This one is another classic and, though it doesn’t necessarily show a common Jade face, is too funny not to post. Okay, it IS a common Jadey face, that’s just how she rolls.

Princess Celtic Warrior Piehead Clipclop Ballerina Trainwreck is preparing for battle… or a spell… or a ball. I can never keep up. She’s found the helmet that I’ve just finished prepping for the actual combat that I partake in on Sundays with Grey Company. Cute.

Jade on my desk

This one was one of my submissions to a “Show us where you work” thread on a local forum. Wife has cleverly snuck her hand under the sewing machine, lest you think that I would precariously balance my child on my desk. I probably would have, come to think of it, and would have relied upon the gravitational pull of her cheeks to keep her close to the computer screen.

That’s all I’ve got for now. Enjoy.

Smooches to all and to all a good smooch.

Her hair looks just like yours before you chopped it off :D

Oh my gosh, that kid is so adorable!! (the other kids are cute too, but not in a squishy-crawly-cooing-baby kind of way.) That’s a nice family you got there, mister. :)

Captain Destructo is busy insisting that he DOES NOT find Pie cute but he would play with her on the playground. I think he’s smitten; I mean how could you go wrong with a battle helmet, a sword and a pink tutu? My god, could Jade look any more like you? Totally adorable, of course.

Your bath tub is all back asswards. Did anyone else notice that?
